The Meat Processing Specialist is responsible for executing tasks related to the cutting, preparation, presentation, and sale of various meat products. Key Responsibilities- Skillfully cuts, arranges, and displays a variety of meat products including beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
- Prepares specialty meat items such as sausages, oven-ready products, and cured meats.
- Ensures all products meet quality standards.
- Maintains a sampling program to enhance customer experience.
- Monitors inventory to prevent spoilage and waste.
- Provides mentorship and support to meat cutter trainees.
- Arrives punctually at the workstation, well-groomed, and ready to fulfill all scheduled shifts and training requirements.
- Delivers exceptional customer service, addressing customer needs promptly and effectively while utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
- Maximizes sales potential through proper preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising of products.
- Adheres to established procedures regarding weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary working environment, ensuring equipment meets cleanliness and safety standards.
- Completes opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy in signage and pricing.
- Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by leadership.
- Comprehensive understanding of meat department processes and procedures.
- Exceptional cutting skills with the ability to break down products into sub-primal and retail cuts.
- In-depth knowledge of various cuts and cooking methods for meat and seafood.
- Ability to visually assess products for quality and freshness.
- Capable of gathering market information and effectively communicating it to customers.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Ability to convey information clearly and respectfully to team members, customers, and vendors.
- Commitment to meeting customer service expectations in all interactions.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures, demonstrating effective time management and organizational skills.

- A minimum of 14 months of retail experience is preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Hand use involves single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including cold and wet environments.
- Proficient in handling knives and other cutting tools.
- Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to operate tools and equipment, including box cutters and electric pallet jacks.
