Job Summary

The Institute for Family Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Director to lead our technology team and drive the strategic direction of our IT infrastructure. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the resiliency, security, and high availability of our IT systems and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of engineers, developers, and system administrators to design, implement, and maintain our IT infrastructure.
  • Manage the procurement and deployment of IT hardware and software, as well as the outsourcing and cloud-based service arrangements.
  • Oversee the management of annual capital spending to ensure timely refreshes of network, storage, and server hardware, as well as software ordering and renewals for infrastructure and assigned applications.
  • Provide direct oversight to a team of engineers, developers, and system administrators, and supervise the manager of helpdesk analysts and technicians.
  • Coach, mentor, and manage the performance and professional development of team members, establishing and tracking goals and ensuring that skills continue to evolve to meet the needs of job functions.
  • Establish and monitor effective controls for the processes and functions performed by infrastructure teams.
  • Lead initiatives and necessary upgrades, maintenance, and migrations for the Institute's entire environment and business applications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for planning new Institute initiatives that require information technology infrastructure planning and implementation.
  • Build successful stakeholder relationships with key leaders in patient care, administration, research, and education to understand their IT needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs.
  • Ensure effective internal and external communication regarding system and network outages, upgrades, and new initiatives.
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical field or a relevant combination of education and technical experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience working in an enterprise technology environment.
  • 5 years of team management and supervision experience.
  • 2 years of accountability for the resiliency, security, design, and high availability of enterprise information technology resources.
  • Experience supporting healthcare organizations and the Epic Electronic Health Record is preferred.
  • CCNA certification is required.
  • CCNA/P Voice, CCNP Route and Switch, and VMWare VCP certifications are preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) technology is preferred.
