Job Summary:

The Infusion Technician is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support. As a key contributor to our organization, this role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist patients in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring a positive experience from the outset.
  • Collect and process patient information, completing the registration process as needed, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare and assemble patient charts, ensuring all necessary documents are in order and up-to-date.
  • Triage and prioritize calls, distributing tasks to RNs in the clinic as required, and demonstrating a thorough understanding of registration processes.
  • Work assigned patient and account tasks, utilizing scheduling tools to manage patient flow and optimize clinic efficiency.
  • Enter orders accurately through electronic medical records, ensuring seamless communication between teams.
  • Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice, including vital signs, glucometry, phlebotomy, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Prepare charts for the next day's patients, ensuring all necessary information is included.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

This role requires the ability to sit for up to 7 hours per day, stand for up to 10 hours per day, and walk for 6 hours per day. The successful candidate must be able to lift, carry, and push objects up to 10 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds, and transporting patients weighing up to 250 pounds via wheelchair, bed, or stretcher.

Education and Training:

A high school graduate or equivalent is preferred, with healthcare specialty training a plus. Evidence of successful completion of BLS or completion within 6 months of hire is required, along with attendance at the St. Luke's Health Network Associate Patient Care Course or equivalent training.
