Job Summary

ECC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Engineer to join our team. Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers, site superintendents, and other stakeholders to ensure project progress and deliverables meet approved budgets and schedules.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate environmental technologies and cost-effective solutions to remediate or remove contaminants and meet project objectives.
  • Plan, prepare, review, and issue project and field submittals, including pre-construction plans, design documents, testing plans, analytical reports, and shop drawings.
  • Apply industry standards of practice and regulatory codes and standards to environmental and field techniques.
  • Identify, address, and communicate technical, operational, and business risks relevant to the selected project approach and technology.
  • Author RFQs and assist in procurement and selection of technical and specialty subcontractors, consultants, and service providers.
  • Perform hands-on and/or inspect fieldwork to ensure compliance with approved designs and plans.
  • Review work of personnel, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure compliance with approved plans and acceptable tolerances.
  • Ensure that appropriate and required testing is completed by qualified personnel using properly calibrated equipment.
  • Complete related documentation, including field reports, completion reports, and regulatory documents.
  • Support client, regulatory, and/or public meetings, and prepare associated presentations and answer questions.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate in written or verbal formats with diplomacy and tact.
  • Aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to lead dispersed teams to accomplish tasks and activities.
  • Skilled in achieving project objectives by properly reviewing and inspecting work for adherence to approved technical plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge applying engineering and industry standards of practice and regulatory codes and standards to environmental and field techniques.
  • Proven knowledge in reading and comprehending client requirements, technical plans, specifications, and related technical documentation.
  • Successful track record in effectively engaging with and/or directing subcontractors.
  • Ability to mentor and guide team members and share lessons learned.
  • Dedicated to remaining abreast of technology developments and industry trends.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows.
  • Ten years of progressively responsible experience performing in-situ or ex-situ environmental systems design, field engineering support, or quality control on environmental remediation or hazardous waste management projects.
  • Engineer certification - PE.
  • HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification with 8 Hour Refresher.
  • Knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA regulatory requirements.
  • US Government contracting experience.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Active membership in professional organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Construction Management, or Business Professional.
  • Engineering, quality, or environmental credential (e.g., CQA, EPI).
  • Active membership in professional organizations.
  • USACE Contractor Quality Management for Contractors certification.

ECC offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
