Our Campus Security Specialists are responsible for safeguarding personal, equipment, and property security for faculty, staff, students, and visitors on campus grounds. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide escort services and essential public assistance as required.
  • Conduct routine security and safety patrols throughout the campus.
  • Remain vigilant to emergency situations and deliver first-line responses, emergency management, and referrals as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to fulfill the institution's operational needs.

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess an associate degree in criminology or a related discipline, along with a minimum of five years of experience in security, public safety, law enforcement, emergency services, or military roles. Alternatively, candidates with a high school diploma and seven or more years of relevant experience will also be considered.

Higher-level degrees in related fields may substitute for years of experience. Successful candidates must complete pre-employment screenings, including background checks, motor vehicle reports, and physical ability assessments.

Preferred Skills:
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Conduct security patrols independently.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Complete routine documentation accurately.
  • Understand and adhere to specific instructions and procedures.
  • React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Comprehend, follow, and enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures.
  • Identify issues and report pertinent information to the appropriate personnel.

Preferred candidates will also exhibit strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a customer service orientation. Proficiency in building security and lock procedures, as well as knowledge of public security codes, policies, and regulations, is advantageous.
