Role Summary:

The Junior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial reporting and month-end closing processes within the Finance Department. Reporting to the Controller, this position will assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and contribute to the overall month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Management

  • Establish new client accounts in the financial system and generate invoices with necessary documentation.
  • Prepare monthly statements for clients, manage overdue communications, and oversee various invoice submission platforms.
  • Collect payments from clients and ensure accurate recording in the financial system.
  • Reconcile invoice details with internal and external records.
  • Act as the primary contact for accounts receivable inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.

Accounts Payable Processing

  • Compile weekly payment lists for vendors.
  • Verify and execute payments for bills related to accounts payable, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
  • Ensure that payments are accurately recorded to the correct accounts.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and address any inquiries related to accounts payable.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for accounts payable inquiries.

Payroll Assistance

  • Prepare and submit payroll timecards to the Payroll Specialist.
  • Act as the point of contact for payroll-related questions and collaborate with the Payroll Specialist to resolve issues.
  • Assist with the management of payroll liabilities and related reconciliations.

General Accounting Duties

  • Support project teams with various financial reports and updates.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Perform general accounting and cost accounting tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of general financial accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
