About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Operations Specialist to join our team at Pregis. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality products are produced at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance, and customer specifications and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and operate roll stand and auto splicer efficiently.
  • Log all rolls as required by Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Return leftover stock to inventory according to S.O.P.
  • Maintain consistent viscosity and pH level of ink fountains when necessary.
  • Maintain all glue levels as needed, as well as monitoring thickness of glue.
  • Maintain continuous operations of label applicators.
  • Assist in M/R operations, setting up printer and gluers, etc., as instructed by operator.
  • Assist in wash-ups as instructed by operator.
  • Assist in keeping line clean in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and as instructed by Line Operator.
  • Understand and demonstrate ability to accurately track press counts.
  • Follow line production to get necessary supplies for next job ready before press shuts down, inclusive of paper, ink, plates, glue, job instructions.
  • Actively engage in Pregis apprenticeship program to ensure continuous improvement of self and company.
  • Keep general area clean and free of debris and spills of any kind.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Five years of progressively responsible related experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture
  • Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others
  • Promote positive teamwork culture
  • Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team and during shift transition
