Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team at O'Neal Manufacturing Services. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable materials using various welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness.
  • Familiarize yourself with and comply with all safety requirements and protocols.
  • Prepare materials and set up for welding devices or robots.
  • May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in the area of specialty.
  • Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.
Requirements
  • Ability to operate forklifts and cranes.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools, such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
  • Ability to use measuring tools, such as tape measures, box calipers, slide dial calipers, and micrometers.
  • Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.
  • Ability to convert metric to English.
  • Provide high-quality work to all internal and external customers related to the output of their position.
  • Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.
  • Speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Must pass a MIG welder certification.
  • Relevant apprenticeship, experience, or vocational training (preferred).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 20-50 pounds repetitively throughout the course of a shift.
  • Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk 2-5 miles throughout the course of a shift.
  • Good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.
  • Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
