We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team at O'Neal Manufacturing Services (OMS). As a MIG Welder, you will be responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable materials using various welding techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and diagrams to determine the appropriate welding process.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness.
- Familiarize yourself with and comply with all safety requirements and protocols.
- Operate forklifts and cranes as needed.
- Read and interpret simple blueprints.
- Use a variety of hand tools, including hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
- Use measuring tools, such as tape measures, box calipers, slide dial calipers, and micrometers.
- Convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.
- Convert metric to English units.
- Provide high-quality work to internal and external customers.
- Set up and operate one or more processing machines.
- Speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.
- Pay close attention to detail.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Pass a MIG welder certification.
- Relevant apprenticeship, experience, or vocational training (preferred).
- Ability to lift 20-50 pounds repetitively throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for long periods.
- Ability to walk 2-5 miles throughout the shift.
- Good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.
- Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
