Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team at Caregiver, Inc. As a Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, enabling them to lead their unique lives with dignity, independence, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Providing personal assistance with daily living activities such as grooming, eating, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
  • Documenting Service Delivery Logs
  • Assisting with meal planning and preparation and housekeeping
  • Assisting with ambulation and mobility as needed
  • Securing and providing transportation
  • Reinforcing counseling and therapy activities
  • Assisting with medications and the performance of RN delegated tasks
  • Supervising and assuring of individuals' health, safety, and security
  • Facilitating inclusion in community activities, use of natural supports, social interaction, participation in leisure activities, and development of socially valued behavior
  • Maintaining regular attendance and timeliness in duties
  • Maintaining good work and personal ethics in dealing with co-workers and resident consumers
  • Reporting incidents/injuries in a timely manner
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A high school education or its equivalent
  • Some previous experience in supporting/assisting those with disabilities
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
