Position Overview:
PeopleTec is currently seeking a Mid-Level SATCOM Systems Engineer to contribute to our technical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze terminal performance certification documentation throughout all stages of the certification process.
- Provide an engineering-focused evaluation for each terminal performance certification document, assessing compliance with established performance criteria.
- Review modem performance certification documentation across all phases of the certification process.
- Deliver an engineering assessment for each modem performance certification document, determining adherence to performance standards.
- Advise vendors and project managers on necessary modifications to system designs or configurations to ensure compliance with performance certification standards.
- Investigate emerging SATCOM technologies and suggest updates to current performance certification standards.
- Examine satellite performance certification testing procedures and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Assist in testing and evaluation during satellite on-orbit assessments, operational evaluations, and troubleshooting.
- Review satellite performance certification reports and provide engineering assessments of the findings.
- Support modifications and updates to the Wideband Satellite Communications Operational Management System.
- Maintain and refresh both offline and online modem and terminal databases.
- Facilitate Wideband SATCOM mission planning utilizing the operational management system.
- Interpret performance characteristics of terminals and modems to develop models.
- Utilize knowledge of satellite and terminal radio frequency characteristics.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis and long-term assessments of satellite, modem, and terminal resources.
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Department of Defense SATCOM systems.
- Proficient understanding of Wideband SATCOM systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- An active DoD TOP Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is mandatory for this role.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Military Standards and European Telecommunications Standards.
- Experience with Wideband SATCOM, including transmission and mission planning.
- Knowledge of terminal and modem performance certification processes.
- Military experience and training in SATCOM systems.
- Ability to demonstrate expertise in SATCOM principles and technical problem-solving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation:
Salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $105,000.00, with consideration given to experience, education, and skills.
