Phlebotomy Specialist

This position requires a state phlebotomy license. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, medical training, and phlebotomy certification. One year of phlebotomy experience is preferred, as well as customer service experience in a retail or service environment. The position requires effective communication in English and the ability to navigate a computer accurately.
Responsibilities:
Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams. Administer oral solutions according to established training. Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders. Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required. Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport. Perform non-patient facing duties, such as inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email. Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures. Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data. Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner. Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred. One year phlebotomy experience preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience. Ability to effectively communicate in English.
