Job Responsibilities:

This role involves working independently and occasionally supervising others in the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, irrigation, and gas systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing advanced-level work to diagnose issues, install, repair, and maintain plumbing and gas systems efficiently;
  • Coordinating with multiple trades on large projects;
  • Staying updated on current codes and industry standards;
  • Ensuring timely completion of work within budget constraints;
  • Conducting preventive and corrective maintenance activities autonomously;
  • Testing, installing, and maintaining gas piping and related equipment;
  • Managing wastewater systems;
  • Prioritizing tasks, ordering materials, and communicating repair statuses;
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work vehicle and tools;
  • Performing general maintenance tasks as needed;
  • Completing paperwork and electronic communications accurately;
  • Following all safety protocols and reporting any issues promptly;
  • Being available for emergency work as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Master’s license or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in plumbing;
  • Knowledge of plumbing tools, materials, and safety practices;
  • Familiarity with local, state, and national plumbing codes;
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools;
  • Ability to troubleshoot plumbing systems effectively;
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of vocational or technical education courses;
  • Cross-connection certification;
  • Backflow certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia;
  • Over 6 years of experience in commercial plumbing;
  • Supervisory training or experience.
