Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Representative to join our team at Empeon, a rapidly growing Payroll and HCM SaaS company. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for generating and qualifying sales opportunities that drive new revenue growth.

Your primary focus will be on identifying target accounts and contacts, collaborating with sales and marketing teams to coordinate outreach efforts, and consistently meeting or exceeding new pipeline targets and activity metrics.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess strong interpersonal skills, active listening abilities, and a detail-oriented approach to follow defined processes. You will also need to be able to learn and stay aware of key client and industry needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Qualify prospects based on their current business challenges and needs, product fit, and purchase timeline
  • Schedule demonstrations and discovery calls for our Account Executive team, follow up as necessary
  • Meet or exceed qualified lead/demos quota every month
  • Develop and articulate genuine customer empathy
  • Update CRM with notes, activity, and next steps if needed for every contact attempt
Requirements
  • 2+ years of lead generation and/or sales prospecting experience
  • A self-motivated, highly organized, and positive attitude
  • Familiarity with a CRM (Hubspot preferred)
  • An ability to build rapport quickly through asking great questions and active listening to the answers
  • Strong interpersonal skills (positive and personable)
  • An ability to initiate a conversation, communicate value, and handle objections
  • An ability to work both independently and as part of a team
