POSITION OVERVIEW
The Press Operator is responsible for the basic setup and operation of forming presses to shape sheet metal components for aircraft, following detailed written instructions and technical drawings. The role involves inspecting finished products to ensure they meet specified standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up and operate various forming presses.
2. Execute forming processes including bulge forming, hydroforming, rubber pad forming, superplastic forming, and related operations.
3. Identify and report any tool wear or damage.
4. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions.
5. Adhere to written guidelines and technical drawings throughout the manufacturing process.
6. Maintain compliance with established safety protocols and quality standards.
7. Accurately document work on manufacturing planning and timecard systems.
8. Update press History Sheets promptly.
9. Work under supervision during the training phase.

Qualifications:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting manufacturing plans and sketches.
- Capable of recognizing when clarification is needed.
- Strong mathematical skills relevant to press operations.
- Familiarity with machine tools and precision instruments, along with good manual dexterity.

Physical Demands:
The role requires physical activities that involve significant use of arms and legs, frequent movement, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as balance and handle materials effectively.
