About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power BI Developer to join our team at Apex Systems. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards, as well as creating and managing Power BI solutions for the entire company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Data Quality and Consistency: Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across reports and dashboards.
  • Project Management: Drive the development and delivery of new Power BI projects, ensuring timely delivery of solutions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and IT teams to understand business needs, data sources, and requirements.
  • Documentation: Develop documentation to standardize reports across the entire IT organization and ensure that reports are aligned with business objectives.
  • Security and Access: Manage security, access, and licensing of the Power BI tool for online services.
  • Database Management: Create a unified database system to feed all other reports with row-level security depending on roles and responsibilities via dataflows and datamarts.
  • Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features and trends and apply new knowledge to improve existing solutions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, or Information Systems.
  • Experience: 5+ years of PowerBI experience and 5+ years of MS T-SQL development experience.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, data warehouse design, and data integration; exceptional leadership, time management, and organizational skills; excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (Azure/AWS Data or Analytics Certifications, SQL Management Studio, MS Power BI, Snowflake).
  • Working Knowledge: Good working knowledge of Azure DevOps for version control and task/bug tracking.
