Posting Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Scientist in the Department of Anesthesiology within the New Jersey Medical School.

The candidate will focus on the mechanisms that underlie calcium channels and chronic pain.

Among the key responsibilities of this position are the following:

  • Designing and executing experiments related to cellular and molecular pain development, analyzing data, writing manuscripts, and presenting results.
  • Developing standards, methodologies, and instrumentation for molecular biological experiments.
  • Training clinical fellows and students.
  • Assisting in the preparation of grant proposals.

Position Status:
Full Time

Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum BS in Biochemistry/Pharmacology, with preferred experience in pain studies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

In this role, the individual will be responsible for conducting research on mechanisms of action related to calcium channels and chronic pain.

You will also be responsible for conducting original research in this area.

Preferred Qualifications:
MA preferred, with at least one year of laboratory experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Demands:
Standing, sitting, walking, talking, or hearing. No special vision requirements. Ability to lift or exert up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment:
Clinical laboratory.
