Sign Language Interpreter Specialist

Sorenson Communications is a leading provider of video relay services and onsite interpreting services. We are seeking highly skilled Deaf and hearing community interpreters to join our team in Washington.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality interpretation services between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English, ensuring effective communication between Deaf consumers and hearing individuals.
- Adhere to Sorenson policies and procedures, as well as the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
- Offer exceptional customer service while maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with customers and colleagues.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment, receiving support from and providing support to colleagues.
- Maintain flexibility to meet the varying interpreting needs in the community setting.
Requirements:
- Able to pass a required skills assessment.
- Holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possesses an associate's or bachelor's degree (preferably).
- Is certified as an interpreter.
- Has 3 years of experience working as an interpreter (preferably).
- Can travel independently within the metropolitan area, possessing a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance at the minimum state level.
