About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Metal Finishing Supervisor to join our team at Nordic Ware. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring a constant flow of production for our metal finishing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up workstations and direct the work activity of assigned areas to meet daily production schedule requirements.
  • Train and coordinate the work of machine operators in the metal finishing areas, identifying and recommending performance and safety improvements.
  • Ensure all Personal Protective Equipment is used correctly and perform visual quality inspections of products, making adjustments or repairs as needed.
  • Complete daily production records, check job travelers, and use fork and hand lifts to move materials and tag finished products.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment and reporting problems to the supervisor or manager.
  • Train new operators and assist all operators to ensure efficiency and quality on all machines and related equipment.
  • Work with outside vendors and the Purchasing department on machine-related supplies and parts.
  • Ensure work area and department housekeeping initiatives are adhered to, per 5S directives.
Requirements
  • You are a self-starter who can work independently, some overtime when necessary, and has a reliable record of attendance and punctuality.
  • You can operate (or can learn how to use) our scanning equipment.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and able to operate a forklift.
  • Good basic computer skills.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • 1+ years' experience in a formal or informal leadership position is preferred with effective group leader skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull/manipulate materials weighing up to 150 lbs.
  • High noise level: hearing protection required; Exposure to airborne particles: eye protection required.
  • Ability to work in fluctuating temperature environments.
