Position Overview:
As a Reception Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
Handling incoming and outgoing calls to clients for appointment scheduling.
Effectively managing multiple tasks in a composed and organized manner.
Maintaining accurate documentation of client and pet records, including referral details and prior medical histories.
Providing clients with necessary information, instructions, and invoices, as well as dispensing medications as directed by the veterinarian and scheduling follow-up appointments.
Overseeing the financial operations of the hospital by ensuring accurate transaction records, adhering to cash and credit card handling protocols, and following proper opening and closing procedures.
Promoting pet welfare through client education on preventative care, health needs, treatment options, and available hospital services.
Upholding a positive demeanor in all interactions with clients, pets, and team members.
Demonstrating empathy towards clients and treating pets with kindness and respect.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Proficient use of standard office equipment.
Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
Availability for a flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
Experience with veterinary management software is advantageous.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while also accepting guidance on specific assignments.
Strong organizational skills.
Critical thinking skills – the ability to analyze logic and reasoning to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of various solutions, conclusions, or approaches to challenges.
