Animal Care Specialist

Howlin Hollows Farm is seeking a highly motivated Animal Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overall care and well-being of the dogs in our facility. Your duties will include supervising groups of dogs playing and exercising outside year-round, maintaining a clean and healthy environment inside and outside, and keeping records of dog feedings, treatments, and other updates.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise groups of dogs playing and exercising outside year-round.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment inside and outside.
  • Keep records of dog feedings, treatments, and other updates.
  • Monitor and note important information about the dog's behavior and habits.
  • Cleaning pet waste, spilled food, etc. from the kennels and play areas.
  • Bathe dogs.
  • Perform duties as assigned to assist in an efficient, smooth flow and operation of the facility, care of the dogs, and service to the clients.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience caring for animals is recommended.
  • Be self-motivated, a self-starter, a quick thinker, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Enjoy being outside with dogs year-round in all types of weather.
  • Ability to interact with all sizes and types of dogs in a positive, calm, non-threatening manner.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and a variety of shifts.
  • Have strong communication skills, good judgment, and be able to manage stressful situations.
  • Be ready to take on heavy cleaning on a daily basis.
  • Physically fit and agile.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Provide work references.
  • Pass random drug screens.
