Animal Control Dispatcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Animal Control Dispatcher. As a key member of our animal care and control team, you will be responsible for providing assistance to the Animal Control Dispatch Supervisor and ensuring adequate support is provided for the daily functions needed at Animal Care & Control.
Key Responsibilities:- Dispatch and track Animal Control field staff
- Provide clerical duties involved in the animal control processes
- Interact with animal control officers, intake coordinators, impoundment, clinic, and animal care team to ensure correct intake data is given and that animals are accurately identified, recorded, and placed in kennels
- Answer incoming calls on multi-line telephone system and record pertinent information regarding nature and location of incidents
- Prioritize and assign officer response, follow up with officer on priority calls, and prepare daily and monthly statistical reports
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum one-year customer service experience
- Basic understanding of animal welfare
- Intermediate computer skills, including data entry
- Ability to operate two-way radio, multi-line telephone system, and general office equipment
- Ability to read and correctly interpret maps, directories, and other information to determine the location of service requests and available field personnel
This work is performed in a high noise level area. Exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal feces, zoonotic diseases, bites, and scratches. Weekend shifts may be required. Safety procedures must be adhered to at all times.
