Job Summary:

The Clinical Medical Assistant will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high-quality, efficient care. This includes preparing patients for examination and treatment, taking patient histories and vital signs, and assisting physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with the necessary instruments for patients, including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
  • Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
  • Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
  • Answer telephone calls to the practice and screen for referrals
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting
  • Current Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire date
  • Active and unrevoked RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA certification/ABR-OE credentials is highly preferred
