Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Nurse Manager for our Medical Clinic in Puyallup, WA. Sea Mar Community Health Centers is accredited by The Joint Commission and recognized by the National Committee of Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) level III.

The Nurse Manager collaborates with the Health Center Administrator and Clinical Director to oversee daily clinic operations. This role involves the clinical and administrative supervision of nursing personnel within the clinic. Ideal candidates will possess empathy, calmness, passion, and a strong motivation to make a positive impact. They should be knowledgeable about the Social Determinants of Health and understand their implications in Community Health Care compared to other healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assess a team of approximately 10-12 Medical Assistants (MA), including MA supervisors.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Health Center Administrator to implement nursing policies and procedures that align with Sea Mar's standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct monthly audits (NPSG audits, etc.) and demonstrate familiarity with State and Federal Regulations relevant to health centers or hospitals.
  • Direct clinic initiatives focusing on quality measures, HEDIS, and Meaningful Use standards.
  • Facilitate annual training sessions for Medical Assistants (Infection control, sterilization techniques, etc.).
  • Lead recruitment efforts for Medical Assistants and participate in hiring other support staff.
  • Oversee and maintain a patient care system for nurse-only visits.
  • Exhibit strong communication (both written and verbal) and team-building skills. The role may require lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications:
  • Must hold a Registered Nurse, B.S.N., LPN, or equivalent qualification and be licensed to practice nursing in the State of Washington.
  • Two to three years of experience in nursing supervision, along with organizational and budget management experience.
  • Exceptional communication (both written and verbal), listening, and team-building skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and coaching skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a self-motivated attitude are advantageous.
