Job Title: Hospital Liaison (Doctors Assistant)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Hospital Liaison to join our team at Lakefield Veterinary Group. As a Hospital Liaison, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients and clients have a seamless and efficient experience within our hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter charges for doctors with a high standard of accuracy and update invoices as needed.
  • Create and review estimates with clients, collect deposits for clients moving forward with treatment plans and hospitalization.
  • Provide administrative support to doctors by assisting with tasks such as medical records, patient information, lab work results, and communication with referral veterinarians.
  • Provide financial updates to owners and collect additional deposits when treatment plans change or hospitalization time increases.
  • Communicate general medical updates to clients when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of work experience as a veterinary professional, preferably in an emergency/specialty hospital environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex medical concepts in a clear and professional manner to clients, colleagues, and doctors.
  • Affection for animals and concern for their welfare.
  • Experience in caring for and handling animals in a safe, effective, and humane manner.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some holidays, evenings, and weekends.

Working Environment:

The working environment may be stressful with aggressive, frightened, abused, or injured pets that may bite or scratch. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities are required to do this job including close vision. This position requires walking and/or standing for long periods of time, bending, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted, 75 lbs. with assistance.
