Position Summary

We are in search of a proficient and driven Maintenance Manager with expertise in control engineering. This individual should be ambitious and eager to progress into broader leadership roles. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the safe and effective execution of all maintenance and asset enhancement activities at the BlueScope Coated Products facility. This includes leading a team of mechanical and electrical technicians to fulfill the operational requirements of the business while effectively managing equipment risks.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Oversight:
Direct and oversee the maintenance team while collaborating closely with various departments across different shifts, including scheduling, training, and performance assessments.

Automation & Robotics:
Enhance efficiency, speed, quality, and performance through the integration of computer systems, control technologies, and information systems, facilitating growth in automation and robotics.

Procurement of Equipment:
Ensure the financial health of operations by procuring goods and services that meet operational and maintenance needs while delivering maximum value.

Equipment Reliability:
Implement timely and effective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime for critical machinery by establishing a preventive maintenance program and optimizing maintenance protocols.

Quality Assurance:
Uphold high-quality standards in output materials through regular audits, collaboration with the quality assurance team, and implementation of corrective measures.

Budget Management:
Efficiently oversee the maintenance budget by regularly reviewing expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and optimizing inventory management.

Safety & Compliance:
Aim for zero workplace accidents and compliance violations by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety drills, and remaining informed about industry regulations.

Team Development:
Enhance team performance through ongoing training, establishing clear performance metrics, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Innovation:
Drive process improvements and adopt new technologies to boost productivity while nurturing a culture of innovation within the team.

Communication:
Maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer and internal expectations, supporting production and delivery timelines.

Project Management:
Effectively manage maintenance projects and capital expenditures using project management tools, preparing detailed budgets, and ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:

  • An associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Three to five years of experience in maintenance management within an industrial setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Control Engineering or a related field.
  • Ten years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Skills:
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Proficiency in maintenance management software and control systems, along with project management skills.

Future Growth Potential:
Demonstrated capacity and ambition to take on additional responsibilities, with the potential for advancement into broader roles.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, individuals may be near moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to hazardous chemicals and extreme temperatures. The noise level in the production environment is moderate.
