As a Patient Transporter at the University of California, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients throughout the hospital. Your primary responsibility will be to position, transfer, and transport patients to and from various departments or locations by wheelchair, bed, or gurney.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically and sensitively with acutely ill patients.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills to perform data entry and to obtain information from Hospital Systems utilizing a personal computer.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift a minimum of 150 pounds.
  • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques sustaining a safe work environment for self and co-workers.
  • Skilled in English language in both written and verbal format.
  • Good comprehension of written and verbal instruction.
  • Ability to strictly obey healthcare regulations for Infection Control, and follow UCLA Policies and Procedures.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
