Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Service Navigator to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Patient Service Navigator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth transportation of patients within our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Escort Services: Safely transport patients to various hospital areas, utilizing our transport equipment and following established operating policies and procedures.
  • Record Keeping and Tracking: Accurately record patient movement in our transport tracking system, ensuring timely and efficient tracking of patient transfers.
  • Material Handling and Delivery: Pick-up and deliver materials and equipment to various offices and departments within the Hospital, as directed.
  • Clinical Support: Assist clinical staff with lifting and moving patients for transfer and transport, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain transport equipment, reporting any defects to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification within the first three (3) months from Date of Hire, required.
  • Experience: Prior hospital experience preferred.
  • Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of patient transfer/transport techniques, and related body mechanics; knowledge of basic related Safety and Infection Control policies and practices; ability to utilize electronic technology for data input; ability to communicate effectively.
