Team Overview & Responsibilities: This role is accountable for delivering a variety of engineering services tailored to the operational needs of the facility, focusing on the repair, refurbishment, installation, and management of projects concerning site infrastructure, grounds, equipment, and machinery. This encompasses project oversight from initial concept through to execution. All decisions will prioritize minimizing environmental, health, and safety impacts while optimizing manufacturing costs, product quality, and process efficiencies. The incumbent will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with all departments within the facility as well as with technical experts across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to environmental health and safety (EHS) by engaging in initiatives and evaluating the environmental and occupational health impacts of all operational processes.
  • Supervise maintenance staff in the repair, refurbishment, installation, and project management of site infrastructure, grounds, equipment, and machinery.
  • Provide timely and proficient engineering support to rectify deficiencies in process equipment, enhance equipment and processes, and oversee the maintenance and upgrades of facilities.
  • Work alongside the Engineering team to develop capital expenditure requests. Lead teams, participate as a team member, or take full responsibility for projects from inception to execution, including design, justification, construction, procurement, installation, operation, and budget management. Conduct follow-ups post-startup to ensure optimal operation and reliability. Adopt a hands-on approach when necessary to facilitate effective startup of new equipment and ensure proper training for department and facility personnel.
  • Assist maintenance personnel as needed in diagnosing issues with equipment and systems. Encourage staff to independently resolve problems and utilize available resources (e.g., engineering, schematics, manuals, etc.).
  • Exercise spending authority in a manner that aligns with budgetary constraints while seeking opportunities for cost savings.
Qualifications:Required:
  • Proficient in guiding and collaborating with others to complete projects.
  • Strong planning, leadership, and administrative skills, coupled with critical thinking abilities to achieve results and enhance key performance metrics.
  • Adept at managing multiple complex tasks and handling pressure effectively.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA and NEC regulations and safety leadership principles to guide associates in identifying and rectifying at-risk behaviors and unsafe conditions.
  • Familiarity with electrical and/or electronics fields to assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing equipment.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles to lead and/or facilitate improvement initiatives.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in leading and directing teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Basic Manufacturing Systems.
  • Project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Over five years of relevant experience.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology.
  • Training and experience in Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience in an operator-led environment.
