Job Summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to facilitate the CT Research program, integrating research studies into daily clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review research study manuals to determine feasibility of implementation and sustainability in the department.
  • Input research protocols into scanners, ensuring that research studies function within the limits of the CT clinical operations.
  • Provide education to staff on all research protocols/guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the CT leadership team, CT physicists, Imaging Core Research Team, CT Quality Assurance Specialist, Technologists, Radiologists, PI's, and other staff to ensure exam protocols, image quality, and patient care are optimized to meet study and clinical needs.
  • Regularly report out to the CT leadership team on the current state of the research program and provide insight on the long-term goals and needs of the program.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in CT imaging equipment, techniques, and procedures for each scanner, all vendors, and software platforms.
  • Ability to work with clinical research coordinators (CRC's) and trial sponsors to obtain protocols and follow up on any protocol build questions as needed.
  • Collaboration with CRC's to ensure protocols are streamlined with clinical standards where appropriate.
  • Ability to run phantom test scans to test protocols/sequences.
  • Integration of research protocols across multiple scanners and dissemination of pertinent information to the CT technologists and appropriate parties involved.
  • Collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative statistical data and work with vendors to resolve technical problems as it relates to research studies.
  • Independence in learning and understanding new imaging techniques critical for clinical research studies in the department.
  • Functioning as a scanning technologist to maintain optimal direct patient care skills as well as maintain imaging skills.
  • Adaptability to work off hours in support of the program as needed.
  • Participation on Departmental and Hospital committees.
Education and Experience
  • CT registered technologist required.
  • Active CPR certification.
  • Completion of an approved school of Medical Imaging.
  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of prior CT experience required to demonstrate proficiency in CT imaging equipment, techniques, and procedures.
