Position Overview:


The Purchasing Manager will play a pivotal role, providing both strategic and tactical leadership to the purchasing team while managing buying responsibilities. Collaborating with internal business partners across manufacturing, sales, project management, quality, and engineering, the primary goal is to procure components, materials, OEM items, and Non-Standard items based on the company's requirements, while actively managing costs and vendor performance and overseeing inventory levels. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional leadership and communication abilities, capable of navigating complex challenges and devising effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a robust supply base to provide essential materials and equipment for the company's success.
  • Lead a team of Buyers, leveraging experience to drive positive outcomes through internal and external collaborations.
  • Work with other AMF-owned entities to maximize procurement and inventory opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain inventory levels as determined by the Product Groups.
  • Collaborate across departments to promote design standardization for cost efficiency.
  • Participate in management events as necessary.
  • Understand and uphold company policies, leading by example.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in enhancing supply chain performance - including customer OTD, supplier OTD, increased inventory turnover, and improved cash flow.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting; some college education is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office is essential.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to gather, analyze, and develop solutions independently or collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems, as well as Microsoft Office products; experience with D365 is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively, adhering to deadlines.
