Job Overview

The Superintendent plays a crucial role in directing and overseeing the on-site construction workforce, ensuring that all operations are conducted in an orderly manner while adhering to safety standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of field personnel and subcontractors; assign tasks effectively.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to develop work schedules, ensuring compliance with project specifications; provide daily assessments and guidance on work methods and progress while offering technical oversight in specialized areas. Regularly update project timelines using scheduling software.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities to align with general contractor schedules; evaluate subcontractor performance and ensure efficient labor utilization.
  • Assess and determine the needs for supplies, materials, and equipment; manage their delivery and distribution.
  • Utilize production and equipment cost data on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to monitor project timelines.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with representatives from contracting agencies or project stakeholders regarding work performance.
  • Accountable for the financial success and productivity of project operations.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings with supervisory personnel, emphasizing the significance of production quality and cost management.
  • Foster a safe and equitable working environment.
  • Assist in project documentation and the preparation of final project reports.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 10 years in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a superintendent role on projects of similar scale and complexity.
  • Knowledgeable about EM requirements and experienced in hazard identification and safety compliance.
  • Adept at interpreting critical path schedules and construction drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation: $90,000 annually.
