Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Acquisition: Coordinate, recommend, approve, and make purchases of minor capital equipment, service contracts, and supplies for all subsidiaries of MyMichigan Health.
  • Supply Chain Management: Facilitate and coordinate the supply cycle process to ensure the appropriate allocation of resources for effective departmental operations and resolve problems in the event of process breakdown.
  • Analysis and Research: Analyze products and pricing, as well as other financial data, to determine the best quality and price based on user-defined specifications and formal communication.
  • Invoice Discrepancies: Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, authorizing corrective action by Pay Management as needed.

Required Education
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Equivalent Experience: Three years of progressive experience in supply and material acquisition and three years of materials management information systems user experience. An Associate's degree in business management or a related field is preferred.
Other Information
  • Assist Departments: Assist departments in product, equipment, and supplier research, and participate on Value Analysis Teams (VAT).
  • Customer Service: Provide customer service and support for the Administrative team, other departments, vendors, and community activities.
  • Negotiations: Negotiate with suppliers on specific terms of contracts for supply, service, and minor expense and minor capital equipment acquisition.
  • Market Trends: Monitor market trends, pricing, economic influences, and contracts for areas of responsibility.
  • Special Projects: Administer special projects as assumed or undertaken at the suggestion of the Supervisor, Manager, or Line Officer, which may include establishing new policies and procedures.
  • RFP Development: Assist with developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for products, equipment, and services.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including demonstrating competency in Microsoft Windows and participating in further learning opportunities offered by MyMichigan Health.
