Job Summary

As a Senior HR Business Partner at International Flavors & Fragrances, you will play a critical role in driving business success by providing HR partnering with managers and union leaders. This exciting opportunity is part of the North America Senior HR Business Partner Team, reporting to the Labor Relations Leader. Based in Midland, MI, you will support sites in Larkin, MI, and Rockland, ME, with travel required on an as-needed basis.

About the Role

As a trusted advisor, coach, and consultant, you will closely partner with business leaders in union and non-union environments to improve their people leadership capability, team culture, talent pipeline, and people development. You will bring 5+ years of HR expertise with a strong proficiency in labor management, thriving in a corporate matrix environment that demands critical thinking, a can-do attitude, and exceptional interpersonal savvy. In this fast-paced agile environment, you will be flexible, have a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and exceptional collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinating and implementing HR initiatives such as labor relations, performance and talent management, training & development, organizational design, and providing general HR and employee relations support for assigned organizations.
• Leading matters related to the labor contract at Midland, including but not limited to grievance & arbitration processes, contract negotiations, and maintaining collaborative communication and working relationships with union officials.
• Maintaining a legally compliant workplace, responding to charges and complaints, leading investigations.
• Partnering with Talent Management, and Total Rewards COEs, executing the organization's talent strategy including Talent Acquisitions, DE&I strategy, Workforce Planning, Organizational Effectiveness, KPI's, Total Rewards, Retention and Recognition Planning & Culture, ensuring compliance to global/local processes and legal requirements, adapting programs as necessary to client organization needs within defined program boundaries, and assisting management in implementing HR program changes at multiple locations.
• Providing counsel and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and related practices.
• Advancing manager competencies through coaching, feedback, and training, partnering with leaders to foster a positive employee experience.
• Implementing changes in organizational structure, work design, team-based systems, and organizational communications.
• Leading and supporting process improvement efforts and other initiatives for improving organizational performance, including participating and leading special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Minimum 5-12 years of HR experience that includes Labor/Employee Relations in unionized and non-unionized environments.
• 5 years labor relations experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate, engage, influence, impact change, think critically, and lead strategic & transformational processes.
• Previous experience supporting multiple locations.
• Experience working with shared service models, Workday experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, including proficient writing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high-level attention to details.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
