A Wind Turbine Technical Trainer is responsible for providing specialized training in wind turbine technology and safety protocols to both internal staff and external clients.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct training sessions for Vestas technicians and clients regarding Vestas products and safety initiatives.
  • Ensure that all participants achieve the educational objectives outlined in the Course & Module Outlines or Training Standards such as GWO during training sessions.
  • Independently manage classroom presentations and hands-on activities to foster a secure and productive learning atmosphere for all attendees.
  • Travel as necessary to deliver training at various sites, including operational wind turbine locations.
  • Continuously enhance and update knowledge of Vestas products, policies, and procedures to support effective training delivery.
  • Assist with training administration by accurately completing documentation and maintaining records.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of Vestas technical and safety training programs.
  • Maintain personal development schedules to ensure readiness for course instruction.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities; capable of articulating complex concepts in both technical and layman's terms.
  • Consistent and dependable attendance.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to conduct training in wind turbine environments, including climbing heights exceeding 100 meters and accessing confined spaces.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Associate's degree in a technical field, military training, or a comparable combination of technical education and experience with wind turbines or similar machinery.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the wind energy sector or with equipment analogous to wind turbines.
  • Experience in delivering formal training programs, on-the-job training, or peer mentoring.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Receptive to constructive feedback.
  • Capability to collaborate within a team, regularly consulting with other subject matter experts to provide accurate and current information to participants.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and execute learning activities that meet course objectives.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences, including assessing comprehension.
  • Familiarity with company policies and procedures related to wind technician roles.
  • Focus on safe work practices in an industrial setting.
  • Proficient in applying technical knowledge to wind turbine operations, maintenance, and safe working methods.
  • Competent in using MS Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in Document Management Systems, capable of locating course-related files.
  • Proficient in Change Request Systems, able to create CRQs for training materials.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Must be able to work in wind turbine environments, including climbing heights over 100 meters and accessing confined spaces.
  • Travel requirements are approximately 25% or less.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain a passport and visa if necessary.

Frequent standing and sitting will occur in classrooms, offices, simulator halls, at wind sites, and in operational wind turbines.
