Overview: The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations for all production and facility-related equipment. This role includes establishing and enforcing maintenance policies, supervising maintenance staff, and managing maintenance budgets effectively.

  • Policy Development: Assist in the creation, organization, and implementation of policies and procedures for the maintenance department, including purchasing, training, overtime, preventive maintenance, and inventory control.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical support and direction to operational teams to improve operator skills, create training programs, and develop standard operating procedures.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to synchronize maintenance activities across the facility.
  • Performance Management: Indirectly oversee the work of production mechanics, ensuring they effectively execute tasks related to mechanical, electrical, and general building repairs.
  • Outsourcing: Engage and manage external technicians or contractors as necessary to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Daily Operations: Supervise the startup of equipment prior to production, providing necessary resources for troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Budget Control: Establish procedures to manage maintenance expenditures within budgetary constraints.
  • Staff Management: Oversee hiring and management of maintenance personnel.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain and manage inventories of maintenance supplies, ensuring timely reordering of parts.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the rebuilding and upkeep of electrical controls, motors, and starters.
  • Emergency Response: Address after-hours emergency repair situations as required.
  • Safety Standards: Ensure safe and sanitary working conditions throughout the facility and develop safe operating procedures for all equipment.
  • Employee Oversight: In the absence of supervisors, approve employee time records and manage performance evaluations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and report to the Facilities Engineer as needed.
  • SAP Implementation: Establish the SAP Maintenance module for the facility.
  • Reporting: Develop maintenance reporting metrics to track productivity and progress.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in Maintenance Management within a high-volume processing or manufacturing environment, ideally in regulated industries.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and required personal protective equipment.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds and close vision tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
