Job Overview

SME Solutions, LLC is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance on fuel dispensers, troubleshooting and repairing technical issues, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on fuel dispensers, including replacing nozzles and breakaway hoses.
  • Troubleshoot and repair technical issues with fuel dispensers, including leaks, pumps, and valves.
  • Assist with tank monitoring and sump pump operations, and install or replace sump pumps as needed.
  • Perform pressure testing, replace meters, filters, and faulty components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Follow job documents and safety protocols, take detailed job notes, and update relevant systems with a laptop or iPad.
  • Maintain a well-organized and fully stocked company vehicle, ensuring it is clean and functional.
Requirements
  • No formal education or trade school is required for the role.
  • Mechanical skills, including experience with hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers) and basic power tools (drills), are required.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use laptops and other electronic devices (iPad, phone) proficiently, are required.
  • Hobbies related to mechanical, automotive, electrical, carpentry, etc. are relevant for the role.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing (pressure, valves, etc.) and electrical (voltage, AC/DC) concepts are preferred.
  • Prior experience working in the field, hands-on, and with customers is preferred.
