Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team on the 2nd shift. As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for operating CNC Milling Machines to perform tasks such as turning, drilling, and live tooling. You will also be responsible for optimizing set-up times, maximizing machine utilization, and troubleshooting programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC Lathe machines to perform tasks such as turning, drilling, bar feeder, and live tooling.
  • Optimize set-up times, maximize machine utilization.
  • Ability to run CNC vertical mills/robo drills.
  • Understand specifications of the tasks by reading blueprints, route instructions.
  • Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Troubleshoot programs and make adjustments when needed.
  • Setup CNC lathe machines to complete full cycles to produce a high and low volume of parts, improve productivity, maintain offsets, and inspect parts with a high degree of precision.
  • Follow the in-process part inspection process, and notify the Supervisor/Lead on the occurrence of non-conformance.
  • Communicate with superintendents, managers, production control, and quality personnel for assignments, and resolve quality issues.
  • Work safely and wear all required PPE for the duration of the shift.
  • Document all issues written to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
  • Check and perform preventive maintenance daily.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of all required measuring equipment which includes calipers, gauges.
  • Proficient math skills.
  • Ability to document machining procedures.
  • Knowledge of metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling.
  • Experience in Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathe machines preferred.
  • Simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English.
  • Physically able to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components.
  • Work scheduled hours and comply with the company's timekeeping policy and all other company policies.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
  • Consistently stand for an entire shift.
  • Strong knowledge of machining practices and materials is a must, as is general mechanical knowledge.
  • Willingness to be trained with a desire to learn.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
