CNC Machinist

G.S. Precision Inc is a leading manufacturer of critical components for the Aerospace and Defense Industries. We are a team of 700 dedicated professionals in facilities totaling 230,000 square feet in four integrated locations.

We are seeking a highly motivated CNC Setup and Operation professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating all types of machines under the direction of the Supervisor, Lead Person and/or Group Leader.

• Set up and operate machines in the assigned area, performing duties with little or no supervision.
• Obtain prints, tools, collets, wheels, gaging and fixtures as required, and change and replace tools as necessary to ensure parts are produced in accordance with tolerances and specifications.
• Read and understand work instructions, GD&T and blueprints.
• Assure compliance with job specifications by inspecting parts as produced using micrometers, verniers, gages and/or other measuring equipment.
• Diagnose and correct machining programs, and report any problems or difficulties to the lead/supervisor.
• Maintain the area, equipment and tools in a neat and orderly condition, and perform basic machine maintenance such as removing chips and adding coolant.
• Maintain records or other data as required.
• Assist in training other operators.
• Ability to operate support equipment as necessary for the department.
• Responsible for production quantity, quality and good machining practices.
• Observes all company policies, rules and regulations, including attendance, break schedule, good housekeeping, safety and security.

• High School Diploma or GED and 2-4 years' experience.
• Ability to use all required measurement and inspection equipment.
• Ability to make major adjustments/offsets, including positional moves.
• Ability to change and re-sharpen tools as necessary.
• Ability to assemble and disassemble production tooling and machinery.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic understanding of company-wide manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and share necessary information.
