Pre-K Aftercare Support Specialist

Uncommon Schools is a nonprofit network of high-performing, public charter schools providing an outstanding K-12 education in historically under-resourced communities. Our mission is to close the academic achievement gap by preparing students to succeed in college and beyond.
Responsibilities- Support teachers in managing the aftercare program for our pre-K 4-year-old students.
- Engage students in enriching activities in 1:1, small group, and whole group settings.
- Assist with managing outdoor play and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of classrooms.
- Support the lead teacher with end-of-day closeout activities.
- Ensure students' safety at all times during their time in school.
- Evidence of self-motivation, a willingness to be a team player, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
- Hard work, urgency, energy, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Flexibility and the ability to handle unpredictability.
- Strong organizational skills, communication skills (particularly with children), and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in performing a critical support role and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
