Job Summary

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team for the school year. We have openings for K-12 positions in both self-contained and resource settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Leadership: Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students in self-contained and resource settings.
  • Classroom Environment: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure effective integration and support for students.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and adjust teaching strategies as needed to meet educational goals.
  • Behavioral Support: Implement and oversee behavior intervention plans and strategies to support students' academic and social-emotional development.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEPs, and other required documentation.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid Special Education teaching license in Virginia.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with K-12 students in both self-contained and resource settings is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong ability to develop and implement IEPs, manage classroom behavior, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt teaching methods and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students across various grade levels.
