We are seeking a Metals Fabrication Manager to oversee and manage the metals fabrication and processing operations within Core Group Resources. This role is responsible for supervising a team of metalworkers, ensuring that all metal-related tasks are performed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Team Supervision and Management:
- Lead and supervise a team of metalworkers, welders, and fabricators, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Develop work schedules and allocate tasks to ensure timely completion of metal fabrication projects.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address any personnel issues or conflicts.
- Fabrication and Processing:
- Oversee the fabrication, welding, and installation of metal components and structures according to project specifications.
- Ensure all metalwork meets industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Inspect and verify the quality of metal parts and assemblies, making adjustments or corrections as needed.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to promote a culture of safety.
- Quality Control and Improvement:
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure all metalwork meets or exceeds project standards.
- Identify areas for improvement in fabrication processes and recommend changes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Address and resolve any quality issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Resource and Inventory Management:
- Oversee the inventory of metal materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate supply and proper maintenance.
- Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to order necessary materials and equipment.
- Manage the utilization of resources to minimize waste and optimize cost-effectiveness.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of fabrication activities, including work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on production progress, quality metrics, and safety performance to senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of marine-related equipment, ship repair and construction techniques, sequencing of ship repair activities, shipyard safety practices, and complex mathematical principles as applied to shipping activities.
- Previous journey experience as Fitter or other metal trades craft.
- Effective leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Ability/proficiency with personal computer and system/platform applications such as word processing and spreadsheets; interpreting technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Pay range from $90,000 - $110,000 per year.
