Sanitation Manager Overnight

Michael Foods, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Manager Overnight to join our team in Norwalk, Iowa. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for developing and directing sanitation activities at our Norwalk and Lenox facilities.

The Sanitation Manager Overnight will work closely with our Sanitation Supervisors to ensure that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. This includes developing and implementing sanitation programs, providing oversight of sanitation activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Develop and direct sanitation activities at the Norwalk and Lenox facilities
• Work closely with Sanitation Supervisors to ensure compliance with sanitation programs
• Provide oversight of sanitation activities, including cleaning and sanitizing procedures
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FSMA and USDA
• Develop and implement sanitation programs, including Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS)
• Work directly with chemical providers to address corrective actions
• Provide insight into the responsibilities and performance of Sanitation Supervisors
• Develop, validate, and verify Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and work instructions
• Assist with applying wet cleaning techniques following the 7 Steps of Wet Sanitation process
• Knowledge of Clean in Place (CIP) and Clean Out of Place (COP) cleaning techniques
• Assist in managing sanitation aspects of construction events
• Demonstrate audit and regulatory compliance
• Participate as a technical subject matter expert during Food Safety and Quality Surveys
• Validate, verify, and monitor sanitation systems and requirements
• Responsible for monitoring sanitation KPIs, including assisting the plants in corrective action

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Microbiology, Food Science/Food Technology or related field preferred
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in sanitation of a food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations
• Skills in identifying sanitation problems and providing workable solutions
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Food Safety/HACCP/HARPC, GMP's, and Sanitary design/controls
• Strong continuous improvement knowledge
• Excellent computer skills in Office, SharePoint, SAP
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team building skills
• Able to work flexible hours (weekends) as required
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects in different plant locations
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willing to travel up to 20% of the time
