Position Summary
The Family Physician will deliver comprehensive primary care to patients at Sea Mar Community Health Centers, adhering to the standards of practice and mission of the organization. This role involves collaborative teamwork with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care. The physician will also manage medication prescriptions in accordance with the authority granted by the Washington State Board. Additionally, the physician will engage in preventive health initiatives, including immunization and disease prevention programs, and will provide educational outreach to patients and community groups, under the guidance of the Medical Director and/or Health Center Administrator. Participation in clinical governance and improvement initiatives is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality services to patients.
- Provide primary medical care in alignment with professional training and licensure.
- Offer hospital and institutional care as necessary for obstetric coverage.
- Refer patients to specialists when appropriate.
- Prescribe and dispense medications in accordance with state regulations.
- Lead and participate in preventive health programs and community education initiatives.
- Contribute to clinical operations, working alongside administrative and medical leadership to enhance patient care.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation and patient care paperwork.
Qualifications
- MD or DO license required.
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency program; board certification or pursuit of certification in the relevant specialty.
- Current DEA registration.
- Compliance with all vaccine requirements for employment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Experience in community health settings is advantageous.
