Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Field Service Technician to join our team at Archetype Permanent Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of marine applications, focusing on large bore diesel engines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to assess unit conditions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform engine overhauls and repairs, following diagnostic evaluations and adhering to industry standards.
  • Ensure seamless performance through sea trials, making adjustments as required to meet customer expectations.
  • Manage costs effectively by utilizing warranty options and evaluating service and parts alternatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of engine and vessel service and repairs, providing valuable insights for future improvements.
  • Uphold a safe and organized work environment, adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Take ownership of tasks, accommodating new and different requests to add value to our services.
  • Perform MTU engine commissioning trials, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Communicate professionally with customers on-site, providing clear and concise updates on project progress.
  • Provide guidance, assistance, and training to apprentice marine technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Execute other duties as assigned, contributing to the success of our team and the company.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical schooling is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience, with a focus on marine large bore diesel engines preferred.
  • Extensive experience with MTU engines.
  • Familiarity with MTU MCS/RCS electronics.
  • Experience with Diasys software is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
  • $34.00 to $47.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
  • An additional $1.50 per hour when working in the field.
  • Up to 50% travel expected.
