Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Systems Safety Engineer II to join our team. This role is essential in conducting System Safety analysis in alignment with the latest standards, including MIL-STD-882 and other applicable government directives. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring safety throughout the lifecycle of various programs and will collaborate closely with multiple disciplines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee technical activities and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks within budget.
  • Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems.
  • Participate in both classified and unclassified test events, discussing safety measures with partner companies and clients.
  • Engage with subcontractors to understand and communicate requirements effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with MIL-STD-882E and other relevant government standards.
  • Document safety analyses and findings through Systems Safety Program Plans (SSPP) and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR).
  • Review engineering changes and mishaps, ensuring all design modifications are integrated into the system.
  • Evaluate and monitor the mitigation of software and firmware-related hazards.
  • Communicate effectively with company personnel and clients, both in writing and verbally.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to meet customer needs.
  • Provide technical knowledge and support to fellow engineers and personnel as needed.
  • Promote and uphold the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Attend relevant engineering, customer, or business meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Systems Safety Engineering.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to effectively develop system safety expertise and support customer needs.
  • Proficient in technical writing for the preparation of complex system reports.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to support program events and training activities.

Additional Information:

U.S. Citizenship is required for this position, which necessitates an active DOD security clearance or the capability to obtain such clearance shortly after starting employment.
