We are seeking an experienced educator to provide comprehensive support to students with visual impairments in a fully remote setting.

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity for a dedicated teacher to make a positive impact on the lives of students with visual impairments. As a Remote TVI, you will collaborate with students, families, and educational professionals to develop individualized education plans, facilitate virtual instruction, and provide ongoing support.

Responsibilities
  • IEP Development: Create tailored education plans to meet the unique needs of each student with visual impairments.
  • Virtual Instruction: Deliver high-quality instruction in core subjects, including Braille literacy, orientation and mobility, adaptive technology, and daily living skills.
  • Progress Monitoring: Collaborate with students, families, and educators to assess progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Innovative Teaching: Utilize cutting-edge methods and technologies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field.
  • Certification: Valid state certification/licensure in New Mexico as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
  • Experience: Previous experience working with students with visual impairments in a school or educational setting.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Braille literacy, knowledge of adaptive technology tools, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
