Position Overview: Horizon Farm Credit is on the lookout for a skilled Credit Analyst to enhance our team. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work from various branch locations. This role supports a hybrid work schedule after a period of successful employment. We are searching for a meticulous, organized, and analytical professional with a background in agricultural or commercial credit analysis. This position presents a unique chance to contribute positively to agriculture and rural communities.

Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will act as a knowledgeable financial expert by delivering reliable credit and financial services in accordance with established regulations and policies. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting thorough financial analyses, including historical trends, projections, debt repayment schedules, and risk assessments to support comprehensive credit recommendations.
  • Drafting a detailed loan narrative that summarizes the financial analysis, addressing the five C's of credit, and highlighting both strengths and weaknesses.
  • Collaborating closely with Relationship Managers to finalize credit recommendations.
  • Securing necessary approvals for loan decisions.
  • Staying informed about internal credit practices, loan products, and compliance standards to ensure sound credit decisions.
  • Managing the loan underwriting process efficiently and maintaining open communication with lending and operations teams.
  • Assisting in the preparation of larger loan packages and monitoring compliance with loan covenants.
  • Engaging in ongoing education regarding agricultural industry trends.
  • Participating in association initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Undertaking additional projects or research as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, or Finance.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in agricultural or commercial credit analysis/underwriting.
  • Strong credit judgment and analytical skills to produce accurate and timely credit packages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with a diverse team.
  • Proficient analytical and computer skills.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a desk and on a computer.

Salary Range: $66,000 - $94,000, based on prior experience.
