Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at St. Michael Medical Center. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, medication, and treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months previous RN experience required.
  • Previous Emergency experience or Critical Care experience within the last 2 years preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within sixty days of hire, and maintained as current thereafter.
  • Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Completion of a NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) class within twelve months of date of hire and must be maintained as current thereafter.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) within twelve months of date of hire. Certification must be maintained as current thereafter.
  • National Institutes of Health Strokes Scale (NIHSS) certification within six months of date of hire, and maintained as current thereafter.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENPC) OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within twelve months of date of hire. Certification(s) must be maintained as current thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and/or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification.
