Job Summary

The Facilities and Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the upkeep and repair of non-power block systems, structures, and components essential for site operations. This role involves maintaining and repairing facilities and equipment to ensure optimal site functionality. The technician will execute maintenance tasks in a cost-effective and timely manner, fostering a safe and efficient working environment for all personnel. Key responsibilities include managing potable water systems, sewer systems, fire protection systems, and the maintenance of various site tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and large equipment for material handling tasks.
  • Conduct plumbing repairs and upgrades in various facility areas including kitchens, labs, and restrooms.
  • Maintain sewer systems, including sewage ejectors and lift stations.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on compressors.
  • Test and maintain eye wash units across the facility.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs on shop and lab equipment.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair structural components such as floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and furniture.
  • Handle mechanical components including fire protection sprinkler systems, air lines, pumps, motors, and valves.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts and large equipment safely, with at least one year of experience.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers, vendors, and management.
  • Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical components in industrial or commercial settings.
  • Eligibility for Nuclear Plant Access and Radiation Worker clearance.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturer manuals, drawings, and procedures.

Work Schedule:

This position operates on a 40-hour work week, Monday through Thursday, with 10-hour days. Flexibility to support on-call duties and extended hours as necessary.

Wage and Compensation:

Compensation details will be discussed during the interview process. The selected candidate will be eligible for contract-specific benefits, including medical, dental, 401k, paid holidays, and vacation time (PTO).
